About
Finance Cryptx is a free resource for learning polymer clay crafts from the very beginning. Every guide on the site is written for people who have never opened a block of clay, or who tried once, ended up with a cracked or scorched piece, and put the box away.
The name comes from the domain the site lives on. The subject is craft: clay, tools, color and shape. Nothing here is financial content.
What you will find here
- Beginner guides that explain the fundamentals: what polymer clay is, which tools are worth having, how to condition clay, and how to form the basic shapes everything else is built from.
- Step-by-step projects for jewelry, miniatures, decor and seasonal pieces, such as earrings, beads, tiny succulents, a ring holder and holiday ornaments.
- Technique guides for color mixing, texture, simple canes, slab patterns, cutters, sanding and finishing.
If you are new, the best place to begin is Polymer Clay for Beginners, followed by the guide to conditioning polymer clay. The full list of guides is on the Tutorials page.
How the guides are written
Each tutorial lists the materials at the top, describes one action per step, explains why the step matters, and points out where beginners most often go wrong. Sizes are given in inches and centimeters and are suggestions, not requirements.
Curing. We do not publish curing temperatures or times. Curing requirements differ between manufacturers and product lines, so every guide asks you to follow the exact instructions supplied with your own polymer clay. Our curing guide explains how to find and read those instructions and how to set up your oven so the clay gets what the package asks for.
Safety and suitability. We do not claim that polymer clay, glues or finishes are food-safe, heat-safe, waterproof or suitable for any particular use. Those questions belong to the manufacturer of the product you are using, and the guides say so where it matters. The projects on this site are decorative.
Illustrations. The images on this site are simplified drawings made to show shapes, tools and the order of steps. They are diagrams, not photographs of finished pieces, and real clay will look different.
Designs. The projects use simple, generic shapes. We do not reproduce other makers’ commercial designs, and we do not publish invented reviews, ratings or testimonials.
Corrections and suggestions
If a step is unclear, a measurement looks wrong or a link is broken, please tell us through the Contact page. Clear instructions matter more to us than anything else on the site, and corrections are always welcome.
